Each year, the Twinning Associations of the three twin towns get together to review the previous year’s events, and plan the upcoming year. Each town takes it in turn to host the meeting.
In October 2018, the meeting was held in Blois and as well as members of Lewes Twinning Association, we were also joined by Lewes Mayor, Cllr Janet Baah and Mayoress, Barbara Rowe.
The meeting was held on Saturday morning and a number of visits and events were agreed.
For Lewes, in 2019 we hope to welcome two groups from Waldshut-Tiengen, including the Waldshut Stadtmusik orchestra who have said they would very much like to come to our town and put on a concert. Lewes’s own LGB Brass are going to be joint hosting the orchestra and event.
The Augustin Thierry school in Blois expressed a wish to set up links with schools here for pupils of the same age from the two countries to be in contact with each other.
We also discussed initiating links between other groups and associations in the three towns.
