Back in mid May Lewes had a visit from the students of the Hochrhein Gymnasium in Waldshut. They were here to tour the local area and spend a day with their counterparts at Priory School, where they learnt how the teaching of lessons here differ to Germany, plus they built up connections with English students.
The Mayor of Lewes also invited the students to a Reception in the Town Hall where he gave them a brief tour, including the Main Assembly Room, the Council Chamber and the Mayor's Parlour.
A couple of the students and a teacher also tried on the Mayoral robes and chain
After the mayoral reception, the students were going to visit the castle.
After the visit, one of the teachers sent us the message: "Thank you again for the warm-hearted reception of the Hochrhein Gymnasium’s student group at the town hall this year."
The visit was also mentioned in the local paper in Waldshut-Tiengen, the Südkurier, SEE HERE.
