The Association held it's Annual General Meeting On Saturday 16th March. A brief report of the meeting is as follows:
Apologies were received from the Mayor of Lewes Councillor Janet Baah who was unwell and unable to attend. The Mayor's Consort appeared in place of the Mayor. After receiving the Minutes of last years A.G.M. held on 17 March 2018 the Chairman Jackie Price gave her report for the year. This was followed by the Treasurers Report and a report from the Membership Secretary.
Election of Officers, after nine years as our Chairman, Jackie Price announced that she was stepping down from her role. One nomination had been received for Chairman and Past Mayor Paul Mockford was elected as the new Chairman. A vote of thanks was given for Jackie's hard work and dedication over the years.
Cate Stocken was re-elected as Secretary.
Carol Watts-Arnold was re-elected as Treasurer
Judith Alderton was re-elected as Membership Secretary
The following were elected to the Committee:
Sarah Beauchamp, Fiona Garth, Councillor Dr Graham Mayhew, Jackie Price and Chris Walsh. Subsequently Dave Johnson has also been co-opted on to the Committee.
After the meeting was closed John Richards of Commercial Square Bonfire Society gave a talk about the societys recent visit to Waldshut-Tiengen for Fastnacht.
The afternoon finished with a raffle and an enjoyable cream tea including homemade scones, jam, cream, tea and coffee.
