On Saturday 22nd October, Lewes Twinning Association will be hosting the Three Town Summit, where members of Twinning Committees in Lewes, Blois (France) and Waldshut-Tiengen (Germany) meet to review the previous year’s events and discuss plans for the future.
The Summit is also an excellent opportunity for Lewes individuals, groups and organisations to make contact and discuss starting or strengthening links in the twin towns.
At previous meetings, a number of links were made leading to one Lewes artist being commissioned to create sculptures which now stand in Waldshut and the surrounding area. Another artist has been to Tiengen and held an exhibition of his work. Lewes groups including orchestras and a youth band have also been invited to both Blois and Waldshut on a number of occasions to take part in concerts and local events. Groups from the twin towns have also come to Lewes to visit the town, hold concerts and take part in Bonfire Night.
The Summit will be held in the “Lecture Room” of Lewes Town Hall (Fisher Street entrance), from 10.00am to 12:00pm. All are very welcome to attend.
