A few months ago, Carmen Slipjen from the Depot Cinema in Lewes contacted the Association to firstly find out more about what we do and if there was a way to link up with the twin towns. She wanted to explore setting up an exchange programme between the cinemas of Lewes, Blois and Waldshut-Tiengen.
Jackie Price, the Association’s Chairman, met with Carmen and she arranged a meeting between Carmen and Jackie’s German counterpart, Elvira (who was in Lewes at the time) to discuss possible links with Waldshut-Tiengen.
Jackie also assisted Carmen in contacting relevant people in Blois before her visit there in July.
On her return, Carmen has informed us that her visit was “very fruitful” and she was “treated very well as a special guest”. She visited both cinemas in the town and is now looking to work on an exchange programme with the manager of one of the cinemas.
